JOB SUMMARY
The Tool Room Machinist provides daily support for RRPCo. by repairing existing tooling and equipment as well as the fabrication of new components as needed.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilize all Tool Room equipment to its capabilities.
- Coordinate repairs with all departments to ensure the smooth operation of daily work, to ensure all deadlines and dates are met to satisfy our customer commitments.
- Operate stick and wire feed welders.
- Modify and/or repair existing rubber molds to improve their productivity and part quality.
- Manufacture new rubber molds to meet customer requirements.
- Develop jigs and fixtures to support various production operations, and machining components to support this.
- Assist in plant maintenance activities.
- Assist in adjustments to process equipment.
- Maintain Inventories of mold and machining components.
- Perform Preventive Maintenance on all Molds and Tool Room equipment on time.
- Performs other tasks as required to support Engineering objectives.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Tool and Die degree from a trade school or equivalent experience.
- 5 –10 years of experience in rubber or plastic molding is desirable.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to lift 20 –30 pounds several times a day and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
